Do Well Be Well With Diabetes

Do Well Be Well with Diabetes is a 9 lesson series that teaches the basics of diabetes self-care and management.  In Do Well Be Well with Diabetes you will learn:

  • What is Diabetes?
  • Nutrition: First Steps to Diabetes Management
  • Managing Your Blood Glucose (Sugar)
  • Dietary Treatment of Diabetes
  • Diabetes and Exercise
  • Different Types of Diabetes Diets
  • Foot Care
  • Nutritional Labels
  • Health Checkups
  • Preventing Problems
  • Proper Serving Sizes
  • Diabetes Medicines
  • Eating Out with Diabetes

These classes are held in a supportive, caring environment with others who also have the same questions and concerns that many people with Diabetes have.  Take home recipes and references you can share with family and friends are also provided.  All our curriculum is based on the current standards of care by the American Diabetes Association.

These classes are held twice annually in Cooke County.  The next class starts on October 2, 2015 and will be held at Muenster Memorial Hospital.
